Bring Curiosity

Paula Moran Trauma-informed Therapist

About me

Paula Moran

Trauma-informed Therapist and Accredited CBT counsellor, trained in Somatic Trauma Therapy. I offer an integrative approach that is tailored to your individual needs.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is used to understand and shift unhelpful thought and behaviour patterns, Somatic Trauma Therapy (STT) builds a sense of safety through present-moment body awareness. This combination can help you feel more aware of what is holding you back and can create space for changes you want to make.

Having worked for many years developing and delivering personal development training, I also offer small group workshops for those interested in finding out more about using practical CBT and STT tools to support peronal wellbeing.

Who I Work With

I work with adults who feel affected by anxiety, stress, or past experiences, and who want support that is both practical and body-aware. Some people come with a clear issue they want to change; others are less sure but are aware of difficulties impacting daily life.

  • Anxiety and worry, panic, overthinking, perfectionism, self-criticism
  • Stress and burnout, overwhelm, difficulty switching off, sleep disruption, irritability
  • Trauma-related symptoms, including feeling on edge, numb, disconnected, or easily triggered
  • Body-based symptoms linked with stress, such as persistent tension
  • Relationship and boundary difficulties, people-pleasing, conflict avoidance, feeling responsible for others

If you’re unsure whether this is the right fit, we can talk through what’s been going on and agree a pace and approach that feels safe and supportive for you.

Therapies that help

Benefits For You

You don’t have to choose between “talking therapy” and “body-based” work. Depending on your needs, sessions may focus more on one area while staying connected to the whole picture.

  • Feel more grounded and steady: build practical skills to manage anxiety, overwhelm, and intense emotions.
  • Make sense of patterns: understand triggers and reactions with compassion, not self-blame.
  • Improve nervous-system regulation: increase your window of tolerance so difficult feelings are more manageable.
  • Reconnect with boundaries and choice: feel more able to say yes/no, slow down, and respond rather than react.
  • Support change: integrate insight and body awareness into everyday life and relationships.

Therapies That I Can Provide

Somatic Trauma Therapy (STT)

Somatic Trauma Therapy brings curiosity and attention to sensations in the body. Being guided to focus on these sensations may lead to a sense of release. Rather than re-living the past, we work with present-moment sensations to build safety, stability, and resilience.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a practical, evidence-based talking therapy that helps you understand how thoughts, feelings, sensations and behaviours interact. Together we identify unhelpful patterns, strengthen coping skills, and create realistic steps towards change—at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

Release Your Potential Workshops

If therapy is not your preferred option you may be interested in small group workshops. Workshops are designed to help participants explore the connection between thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and patterns of behaviour in a safe, paced environment.
